Director's Statement:
Green Tree Frog is a film about detachment. Both of our main characters are holding onto something that they need to let go of. Our protagonist - or more accurately - our anti-hero (Maggie), is holding onto her parent’s marriage, unable to let go of the family she once had. Throughout the film she faces the consequences of holding onto the past, leaving the audience with the feeling of disgust with oneself often associated with guilt, shame, and loss.
